Meet our roaster and founder, Benjamin
I first fell in love with coffee when I was in college at UNO. This was a time when I began traveling and backpacking. I was always up for a new journey and its detours. Often, the aroma of a fresh batch of coffee beans, roasting at a nearby cafe, altered my day’s journey.
Over time, coffee culture became part of my life’s path; owning a cafe its destination. For five years, I worked at Caffe Italia in San Diego’s Little Italy. After that, I built a coffee shop called the World Beat Cafe in a reggae venue in Balboa Park.
My life path meanders outdoors, too. Drawn by my love of trees to become a certified arborist, my work in Colorado and now at Omaha’s Arbor Aesthetics has sustained me on this leg of my journey.
It has been a long road to a full fledged cafe and each next step is a hopeful one. I began roasting my own beans five years ago and last year I began selling my roasted coffee. I don’t know how long it will be before I finally step into a storefront, but I do know this. I sincerely hope you will walk this journey with me.
